PD patients have an increased risk of developing melanoma. (skin cancer). Studies show that people who have PD not only have a higher level of alpha synuclein in their brain but also their skin. That increased level of alpha synuclein in the skin puts you at a higher risk for melanoma. But anyone can get skin cancer, PD or not. The most important thing you can do to prevent it is protecting your skin with clothing, shade and sunscreen. And getting checked regularly! šŸ™šŸ¼ ā˜€ļøā˜€ļø
